Årets vakreste Bøker 2015
Visual identity, exhibition design and editorial design
Årets vakreste Bøker (The Most Beautiful Norwegian Books) is an annual design contest founded in 1933. With the first radically new category since 1933 – the most beautiful e-book – in mind, we focused on the book as an object. We explored the parallels and differences between the printed and the digital book. For the digital campaign we used photoshop effects, while on the catalogue we used 9 different print techniques on the cover, including light sensitive ink and stamp. Together with Grafill we stamped all 2400 catalogues by hand. All the awarded books were measured by format, volume, weight, density, and photographed with extreme shadows to emphasize the physical aspects of the book. Everything added up, we had 47635,5 cm3 + 289 MB of beautiful books.
